A different way to read time

Time has a position.
Give it a language.

PHASE explores time through two connected layers: precise coordinates for calculation, and an intuitive view of where you are within a repeating cycle. This first prototype uses a nominal 24-hour cycle anchored to SI seconds.

01 / Chronometry

Current cycle position

A decimal coordinate within a nominal 86,400-second cycle.

Input / conversion

Set a time

Enter local clock values. This converts the time of day only; it does not identify a date or time zone.

Coordinate rule: φ = (3,600h + 60m + s) / 86,400. The cycle label P1 is illustrative; production use requires a defined epoch and rollover convention.

02 / Duration

Measure a span

Express elapsed duration as a fraction of the same nominal cycle.

0.0208333
1,800 seconds · 1 / 48 cycle
Durations may exceed one cycle. This calculator preserves the full span rather than wrapping it.

03 / Planetary reference

Earth reference layer

A future mode can relate the coordinate to measured Earth orientation rather than a fixed nominal day.

Current modeNominal cycle
Earth rotation dataNot connected
Annual orbital coordinateNot implemented
Moon cycleOptional / later
Earth's rotation is not perfectly uniform. No live astronomical value is shown here; adding one requires a stated convention, authoritative data source, and freshness indicator.
